About
Hi! I'm Julia. A Collage Artist and Designer based in Los Angeles, California. I work with collected vintage magazines and ephemera to create playful, maximalist collages. I work out of my studio in the Melrose Hill area of Los Angeles, where I also teach collage workshops.
You can probably tell that I like fun and novelty. Please enjoy these random facts about me.
🕹️ I'm in the top 25% of high scores on the James Bond 007 Dr. No Pinball machine.
📚 I love that thrifting feels like a treasure hunt, and I own over 200 vintage magazines. I've been collecting for years from flea markets, estate sales and antique stores.
🤘 There's nothing quite like live music. I've seen the bands Hot Chip and Spoon in concert over ten times... in multiple states and countries!
🍉 When I was 8, I won a watermelon seed spitting contest at summer camp.
📸 Analog has a special place in my heart. In addition to collage, I love shooting on my Polaroid, and taking photos in vintage photo booths.
🌭 I’m obsessed with programmatic architecture and frequent a hot dog stand in the shape of a hot dog in West Hollywood. Bonus: there's a secret tiki bar upstairs.
📝 I love checking off items on a to-do list! (Classic Virgo)
🚫 I don't like Mayonnaise.
