July '16 Playlist
Today marks a year that I've been doing my monthly playlists accompanied with monthly drawings to go along with 'em. (Apparently I skipped January and February. Those were times of transition for me though so I'm totally OK with that and I'm giving myself a 'get out of jail free' pass).
This month I'm seeing Steven Tyler, (free tickets through work so why not, right?), Mayer Hawthorne, Kyle Craft, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, and BØRNS. Most of them are free shows through KCRW Summer Nights, which you should totally look into.
Here's some highlights from the July playlist:
I got instant goosebumps listening to "Middle Names" by Devendra Banhart. Their new album, Ape in Pink Marble debuts in September.
Car Seat Headrest sounds like Tapes 'n Tapes infused with a hint of Modest Mouse. SUPER into it.
The day I discovered Kyle Craft, I bought tickets to his show at the Bootleg happening on Friday, July 8. (You should go, too. It's only $9)!
White Sea might sound familiar because she used to be in M83.
