Don’t you just love a good advert? I sure do. I especially love cutting them up and mashing them together into something FUN.
This is a roundup of graphic collages I’ve made with clippings from various vintage magazine adverts and photographs.
Some are just an excess of a similar thing, like these flowers creating a “bouquet”. And others are more conceptual with using the negative space of the piece to add something clever: like a straddle handstand with a rainbow arching between the pose.
I cut out each bit of these collages by using the masking tool in Photoshop and puzzle-piecing the objects together in an aesthetically pleasing way.
This is a fun personal project for me which is fun from the treasure-hunt-y beginnings of photo sourcing down to the quirky final product.
PS: These are all available as prints in my Society6 Shop!
