Recently, in Bursts of Inspiration by Julia Walck

Little bursts of inspiration are what I try to look for every day. Here's some things as of late that inspired me/made me happy.

I filled my shower with balloons just because. It's super fun and I'm leaving it like this forever! (aka until the balloons pop).

I went to a Creative Mornings talk last Friday where Jen Gotch spoke about compassion. My favorite quote of the morning was "Everyone is nuts, creatives are just better at exposing it."

I saw my future in this pink floral car while walking down Hollywood Blvd.

Comparison Will Kill You by Julia Walck

This phrase has been on my mind a lot lately.

Honestly sometimes I get jealous. I’ll look at someone else’s art and say, “why didn’t I think of that”, and I’ll try to make my work ‘as good' as theirs.

I have to remind myself: it’s not a contest, it’s creativity. Don’t try to meet someone else’s standards, create your own. ✌🏼

Type on a Happy Face by Julia Walck

I love when design makes me smile, so I wanted to do a project where I made the design itself smile.

Using some chunky Gotham, negative space and yellow I created a series of typographic happy faces with fun phrases titled, "Type on a Happy Face". Available as prints, tote bags, blankets, cell phone cases and much more in my Society6 shop here

I dare you not to smile when you scroll through these.

Here's one with a quite literal "fun" phrase.

I'm sure I'll be adding more to this series in the future when I think up more fun phrases. Can't stop, won't stop.

It's the Freakin' Weekend... by Julia Walck

...Baby, I'm about to have me some fun 💃🏼

In this instance, "fun" is day drinking for a friend's birthday. No complaints here.

So far this weekend I've bought door stoppers that look like cheese wedges, yelled a lot at Rebel Bingo and went on a hunt for a really good floral wall (shown above).

My jet lag from Wales didn't last too long and I feel like I'm 100% back to normal now! I'm still working on my Festival No. 6 / Manchester post, (it's gonna be a big one!) so in the meantime here are some things:

Found a pair of jeans to suit my personality

Got a pencil with the same mindset as me

Dyed my hair fuchsia; it's faded to lavender

Bought disco shoes re-incarnated
