E-Organization by Julia Walck

Today I sorted through 800 newsletters that I've had accumulating since March. I used to design a newsletter every week and would get inspiration from my inbox, and since having not done that in a while they really piled up.

In total I unsubscribed from 25 newsletters. That's roundabout 32 emails from each company per month!

I like to imagine I set them on fire out of a tiny envelope shaped matchbox. ✉️ 🔥

To avoid this in the future I'm going to set up a separate email account just for newsletters. And I'm only going to subscribe to ones that suit my design style, and go through for inspiration more frequently than once every 6 months.

Yay organization!

Inspiration is Everywhere by Julia Walck

The other day I was just sitting on my couch and I couldn't stop staring at my monstera plant (that I'm slowly killing but trying my best to revive). Then I thought, "I'm going to paint it".

I grabbed a 22" x 30" piece of watercolor paper and taped it to the wall and busted my paints out. I don't think I've ever stood up painting like that before but it felt great.

A few weeks ago something similar happened when rearranging my jewelry. The colors really caught my eye, and I suddenly had the urge to paint them in vivid tones.

It's so strange the times when inspiration strikes. And from the most simple things surrounding you...

Recently, In Sketches... by Julia Walck

Work lately has involved lots of pen to paper sketching and I'm totally digging it. We're working on something that's a bit hush-hush at the moment, and will hopefully release within the next couple of months. Until then, I'll let you stare at these and wonder what that something is.
