Headed to a Friendsgiving this afternoon and am bringing this cocktail that tastes like apple pie in a cup 🍎I thought I'd share the recipe with you here!

TEQUILA APPLE PIE COCKTAIL

Ingredients:

1 3/4 oz. Nonalcoholic Apple Cider

1/4 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice

1/2 oz. Agave Nectar

1 1/2 oz. Tequila

1/4 tsp. Cinnamon Powder

Instructions:

  • Combine in a shaker… and shake.

  • Double strain over ice.

  • Garnish with a cinnamon stick.

The Perfect Red Sangria (re-imagined) by Julia Walck

Sometimes I dream about the perfect red sangria (paired with parmesan truffle fries) from Eat Chow. Every once in a while I drive down to Newport Beach just to eat here and then drive back up to LA. Yeah, it's that good

Obviously I can't keep that up forever so I decided to re-create the perfect red sangria at home... and it's pretty darn close.

THE PERFECT RED SANGRIA (re-imagined)

Ingredients:

1 bottle red wine (we used Ménage a Trois Cabernet Sauvignon)

1 bottle champagne or sparkling wine (we used André Brut Champagne)

1/2 cup blackberries

1/2 cup blueberries

1/2 cup raspberries

1 1/2 oranges, plus more for garnish

3 (or so) fresh mint clusters to soak, and some to garnish

Instructions:

  • Cut the oranges into thin, circular slices. 
     
  • In a large pitcher or punch bowl, (could even be a pasta pot), throw in all of the fruit and mint.
     
  • Pour in the red wine and pop it in the fridge to soak overnight (we let ours soak for 2!). 
     
  • Before serving, add the champagne and mix. Top it off with orange wedges and mint sprigs.

Stir Crazy by Julia Walck

Apparently I collect these now? It just sort of happened... I have a full set of the flamingo, palm trees (and another set not pictured), but most are quirky one-off vintage ones I find that make me laugh or have good typography. The SPATS hat stirrer, I got for free at the Long Beach Flea Market from a super nice vendor who thought it matched my hat too perfectly to not be taken home by me. 

In total, I have 45 of these babies. Good thing it's Friday, and I can use them to stir my 45 drinks. 

Gummy Bear Sangria?! by Julia Walck

Caught myself daydreaming about this gummy bear sangria right now. I made this a while ago, and have a hankering to do it again real soon!

This recipe is from My Name is Yeh and was too yummy not to share! Here's a recap below. 

Gummy Bear Sangria

Ingredients:

1 1/2 cups gummy bears

1 1/2 cups vodka (or go crazy, I don't judge)

1 bottle white wine

1 cups apple juice

1/2 cup to 1 cup fizzy water

2 large apples, sliced

1 lime, sliced, plus more for garnish

Instructions:

Grab a jar and pour in the bears. Save a couple to make cute little skewers when serving. Cover the gummy bears in vodka, cover the container and soak ‘em at room temp. overnight. (Or at least 8 hours)

Pour your vodka into another jar, and separate the gummy bears. (I saved my gummy-bear-soaked vodka, and it turned to jello. Jello! Gummy bear flavored JELLO. I could literally turn the mason jar upside down and the vodka wouldn't even budge).

Combine all ingredients in a large pitcher or punch bowl. Add ice or chill before serving. Top it off with some lime slices and gummy bear skewers! 

PS: These lil' glasses that are pictured, I got the set of 8 at a garage sale for $5. And that "Cheers" pitcher? Goodwill for $5! Thrifting for the win.
