Sisterhood of the Traveling Sketchbook by Julia Walck

My friend Kelly and I have been mailing a Japanese foldout style Moleskine sketchbook back and forth for the past four years. Actually, she’s held it hostage for the past two and finally gave it back yesterday! We alternate drawing on spreads and connect the end points of illustrations to the beginning of the next. She titled her most recent piece, “Grad School” (the skull).

Funeral Parade | Conversations by Julia Walck

Issue 5 of Funeral Parade released last week. You should take a moment to sit down and read it.

This issue was the Conversations issue. I'd say the intimacy level on a scale of 1-10 is a 50. I felt so connected to the artists, having never met many of them... which speaks volumes.

It's such a great experience to help out on this ongoing creative project. You can check out some photos I took (and some that Sheena [creative director of FP] took) in the Intimatchine feature of Funeral Parade.
